Conditions for obtaining support
In order to be considered for support, it is not sufficient that the research is undertaken without use of laboratory animals. The research must also comply with Forsøgsdyrenes Værn’s aim of replacement of animal experiments with non-animal methods.
If the research involves cell culture, applicants should be aware that support will only be given to culture in a serum-free environment, as, for example, the production of foetal calf serum involves serious animal welfare problems. Information on where serum-free culture media can be found here.
